Four Inter Miami Home Matches That Marked Different Chapters
Inter Miami’s home history crosses both a naming change and a city change. Some famous matches took place in Fort Lauderdale at the stadium subsequently known as Chase Stadium. Others belong to Nu Stadium in Miami. Keeping those locations distinct makes a historical archive more helpful to someone planning a future match.
The following matches are selected for their significance to different chapters of the club. They are not a complete list of major home results and are not arranged as a greatest-ever ranking.
July 21, 2023: Inter Miami 2, Cruz Azul 1
Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami debut ended with a late free kick and a 2–1 Leagues Cup victory over Cruz Azul. The venue was DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
Its place in club history is clear without describing it as a Miami-city match. For many new followers, this became their introduction to Inter Miami. An archive should preserve the tournament and location as carefully as the star’s name. The match was a Leagues Cup fixture rather than a regular-season MLS game.
July 25, 2023: Inter Miami 4, Atlanta United 0
Four days later, Inter Miami defeated Atlanta United 4–0 at DRV PNK Stadium, advancing to the Leagues Cup knockout rounds. The result demonstrated that the opening-night moment had become a continuing tournament story.
It also makes a useful companion to the Cruz Azul entry. The first match is remembered for its decisive finish; this one offers a different kind of milestone, with a convincing scoreline and progression to another stage of the competition.
October 19, 2024: Inter Miami 6, New England Revolution 2
Inter Miami beat New England 6–2 at Chase Stadium and finished the regular season with 74 points, setting the MLS single-season points record at that time.
The naming change should not confuse readers: Chase Stadium was the Fort Lauderdale building previously known as DRV PNK Stadium. Describe this as the 2024 record-setting result rather than making an unchecked claim that the record remains current indefinitely.
April 4, 2026: Inter Miami 2, Austin FC 2
Nu Stadium’s opening match in Miami finished 2–2 against Austin FC. An inaugural home does not require an inaugural victory to become memorable. This match marks the geographical transition in the club’s home history.
For present-day ticket shoppers, it is the entry that links most directly to current venue planning. Earlier Fort Lauderdale parking and restaurant recommendations should not be carried over simply because the same team is playing.
Use history to choose the right event
Before buying, check the listed stadium, opponent, competition and date. A regular-season match, cup fixture and special event can have different ticket arrangements. Our Inter Miami ticket hub and Nu Stadium visitor guide should provide those current details alongside this historical archive.
