Accessible Miami Event Planning
Plan seating and transportation together. A ticket location that suits your group still needs a usable route from drop-off or parking to the entrance.
Ask the venue first
Confirm its accessible-ticket process, companion arrangements, entrance, lifts and assistance options for your specific event. Do not assume a resale listing includes the accessibility features your group needs.
Connect the journey
Discuss the requirements of the actual traveler with the transportation provider. Identify the pickup and return locations and confirm that your hotel meets your needs. An accessibility symbol does not describe every feature.
Keep the plan together
Share the confirmed instructions with your group and retain the venue contact information. Use current official information when an event changes layout.
Start with the journey to your seat
Ask about the entire route: accessible parking or drop-off, screening, lifts, the seating position and nearby facilities. “Wheelchair accessible” should not be used as a substitute for answers about a person's particular needs. If a concert uses a temporary floor layout, check that arrangement separately from the building's usual sports plan.
Compare services by performance
The Arsht lists accessible seating and performance-related assistance, with services such as interpretation, captioning and audio description available for selected performances. Broward Center describes sensory bags and a dedicated sensory-inclusive program. Those are useful starting points, but availability and request procedures should be confirmed directly for your date.
Coordinate ticket and companion needs
Explain your seating and companion requirements before buying. Ask the venue which locations fit them and how the relevant tickets are obtained. If using a resale marketplace, check both the exact listing and the venue's admission guidance; an ordinary ticket is not a promise that an accommodation will be arranged on arrival.
Plan departure too
Confirm whether your pickup location remains usable after the event and whether your transportation provider can meet the group's needs. A route involving stairs or a long queue may be unsuitable even when the train or vehicle itself is accessible. Keep the venue contact details available and ask staff for current directions on the night.
